LOVELY NEW CHAIR
The latest seat design to be lovingly stitched by the talented Cobra Seats craftsmen in Telford is destined to be an instant classic – in both name and design. The catchily-titled Cobra Players Classic Sports Seat may not be easy to say, but it’s easy on the eye – and even easier on the posterior.
As its title suggests, this design was originally crafted for those stylish, scene-leading types from The Players Show. Players chief, Jay McToldridge, came to Cobra’s R&D division with a clear design brief for a comfortable touring seat that would look at home in any retro/youngtimer/70-80’s sports hatch as well as many classic and vintage sportscars.
After many hours of late-night design meetings, several cups of tea, and possibly the odd beer or three, what came out of the artisan workshops at Cobra was this entirely hand-finished, tubular steel framed masterpiece! Generously proportioned and carefully bolstered, it’s perfect for cruising to distant shows, relaxing during your daily commute, or even putting in a hot lap or two on your next trackday. Being a larger seat, it’s not going to fit in any narrow cockpits, but it’s perfect proportions and flawless finish will make it at home in a wide variety of models, looking perfect in older German metal in particular…
Starting from just £349 inc VAT for a suitably retro inspired vinyl and corduroy number, Cobra trim options for this seat extend right up to a sumptuous piped black leather and Houndstooth combo at £1109 inc VAT that will make you the envy of even the most affluent of supercar owners.
The standard trims list is extensive, as usual, but as ever, should you have something unique in mind, Cobra’s bespoke division, will be only too happy to fire up their gold-plated sewing machines and create it for you. Nothing is impossible, due to the entirely hand-finished nature of this design.
Buy it for style, buy it for scene points or just buy it because it’s really comfortable and nice to sit in for long journeys. The Cobra Players Classic Sports Seat is available now from www.cobraseats.com ENDS.
