HELP IS AT HAND
AirMan’s ResQ Tyre Repair Kit is a definite alternative to changing a spare wheel by the side of the road (invariably in the pitch dark and rain!). The maker’s, AirMan UK, is the aftermarket arm of Active Tools, the world’s leading supplier of emergency tyre kits and hardware.
This, their best-selling costs just £29.99 includes everything you need to get back on the road and is perfect for all types of passenger vehicles, so is therefore spot-on for kit and specialist car use, where spares are cumbersome and impractical and a tin of spray is close to being useless in reality.
The High Performance Compressor features 12-volt power plug, built-in pressure gauge with psi and bar indication, adaptors for bicycle tyres, balls, inflatable toys, while the tyre sealant comes in a 450ml ‘valve-through’ sealant bottle with patented Particle Gel Technology. The kit can take care of punctures caused by objects up to 6mm and the whole lot can be kept neatly stowed courtesy of the handy carrying bag.
The key to remember here is that unlike some horrible gel products that don’t really solve a puncture, while rendering your tyre useless by coating it with a nasty sticky substance seemingly made of chewed bubblegum and wood glue the AirMan UK product isn’t like that and the tyre can be re-used as their product is water-soluble. Sounds like a win:win to us and we’ll be keeping this kit close at hand from now on…how helpful could this be while driving in Europe, for example?
I shudder at the memory of being stranded with a flat mobile battery on the side of the notoriously dangerous, mostly single-carriageway A75 Carlisle to Stranraer road, on a sleety, dark December night with a flat tyre. At least this system would have given me half a chance of proceeding… HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
