ARE YOU ON THE ROTA?
The last few years has seen Rota Wheels emerge as one of the world’s leading alloy wheel manufacturers, with a bulging portfolio of stunning designs as beautiful as they are iconic. The firm’s already impressive line-up has just been bolstered by the addition of an all new design, the pretty Slipstream, a lightweight wheel that looks set to be a huge hit within the UK’s ceaselessly inventive modified car scene.
Drawing on its wealth of collective experience within this incredibly competitive industry, Rota set out to develop a wheel that would blend elements of motorsport aggression with the more subtle, understated styling traits that have become a key fixture of successful alloys over the last few years.
Rota’s range is well-known for being inclusive, something the wheel guru has strived to continue with the Slipstream. In practice this means that the firm’s all new offering is available in a staggering variety of sizes, offsets and PCDs, with fitment options to suit most models from all mainstream manufacturers.
The Slipstream can be had in a wide variety of widths and diameters, ranging from a modest 8.5×18in, right up to a gargantuan 10.5×18in. These sizing options cover most modern vehicles and ensure that there’s absolutely no chance of the Slipstream alloys getting ‘lost’ within the cavernous arches found on some cars.
The Slipstream shares a number of traits with all Rota wheels, namely extreme strength and lightweight. The former is achieved through Rota’s exhaustive research and development phase, one which sees various prototypes and test mules tested to the limits…and beyond! Rota wheels are also known for being light, and there’s a very good chance that fitting the Slipstream to your car will result in a reduction in unsprung weight.
