Mini Spares has just released a brand new five-port, alloy head for the classic Mini. The new C-AHT347 alloy head is based on the original Cooper ‘S’ 12G1805 version of the 12G940 casting with eleven studs.

Externally, the new alloy head is a replica of the Cooper ‘S’ 940 casting and is already gas flowed for performance in its standard form.

As most users dispense with the by-pass hose, the by-pass hose connector hole is not drilled.

C-AHT347 uses 35.6 x 29.3mm standard material valves, which costs £1231-9 inc VAT. However, most purchasers are expected to opt for 35.7 x 29.5mm race quality valves (C-AHT347RACE, priced at £1296.50 inc VAT).

For out-and-out competition Mini Spares also offers the C-AHT348 full race head, which is fully ported with Colsibro guides, beryllium valve seats, titanium top caps and 88G459EVO cotters. The C-AHT348 head is designed to be used with 37.2 x 31mm race valves and is priced at £1559.59 inc VAT.

A bare road-type head casting, supplied without guides and valves, will also be available for professionals to build to their own specifications. Price is expected to be from £979.56 inc VAT.
