GOING DIGITAL
With many classic and kitcar car owners changing to digital speedometers, Mini Spares now offers a drive adaptor that allows pre-1980 MIni owners to convert their speedometers to digital.
The unit fits directly on to the gearbox in place of the standard cable and produces a digital signal for use with any electronic speedometer using a 12- or 5-volt square wave pulse such as the Mini Spares electronic speedo 13H4443.
Order as part number GSD1000 – this fits pre-1980 speedo drive pinions. Mini Spares also offer a similar drive for post-1980 Minis which can be ordered as GSD1001.
The signal is a square wave 7-volt output pulsing six times per single revolution of the cable.
(It will not work with gauges that require a two-wire sine wave input).
Retail price: £43.42 inc VAT
