BookaTrack Caterham has launched a brand new limited edition Caterham Seven 420R, to mark the 40th anniversary of Donington Park Circuit. Created and designed by BookaTrack Caterham and dubbed the Seven 420R Donington Edition, the car is endorsed by Donington Park and was launched at the Caterham 60th anniversary celebration in early July, as part of the Caterham Festival event.

The prestige associated with this limited-edition range is highlighted by the fact just ten cars will be available. Each will be built in the BookaTrack Caterham Donington Park-based workshop, by Stuart Faulds and Robert Carter, and finished with a commemorative plaque, confirming its authenticity.

To celebrate this significant anniversary since the re-opening of the circuit, each Seven 420R Donington Edition will be allocated a unique title to reflect the circuit’s most ifamous features, such as Redgate, Craner Curves and Old Hairpin.

Available as either a standard S3 or as the wider, longer SV chassis, the Seven 420R Donington Edition flaunts some of the best features that Caterham has to offer. The 2-litre Ford Duratec engine produces a solid 210bhp, and is mounted to a Sadev six-speed sequential gearbox and limited slip differential.

Finished externally with a Superlight cage, aeroscreen, carbon vinyl half doors, a carbon vinyl tonneau and the distinctive dash and nosecone from the range-topping 620, the Seven 420R Donington Edition certainly will be eye-catching. The cars will all be finished in the same striking design, which will reflect the colour-scheme of the Donington logo.

Christopher Tate, Donington Park’s managing director, said: “We are thrilled that Caterham are putting our name to one of their iconic cars, in this year of great celebration for Donington Park. We have over the years seen some stunning racing from Caterhams at Donington, and it’s a very fitting link indeed for this commemorative model to be made.

“Our relationship has been further strengthened with the establishment of the BookaTrack Caterham showroom at the circuit, and we look forward to further strengthening this relationship in the future, and seeing some of the Donington edition Caterhams on our track.”

Graham Macdonald, Caterham’s chief executive officer, added: “As the Caterham Seven celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2017, it’s great to see that the Seven is also being personalised to mark Donington Park’s 40th anniversary. With many of our motorsport series’ taking place at Donington over the years, it’s a fitting celebration to see a limited edition Seven endorsed by one of the most prestigious race tracks in the UK.”

Managing Director of BookaTrack Caterham, Jonny Leroux, added: “The Donington Edition Caterham Seven 420R is a culmination of the two most important brands to BookaTrack. Bringing Caterham and Donington Park together for a limited-edition model is the perfect way for BookaTrack to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Seven and the 40th Anniversary of the reopening of Donington Park.

“We were determined that the Donington Edition should be the ultimate trackday Caterham and there are no options that this model lacks. Stuart and Rob are two of the most highly respected Caterham technicians in the world, and it is fantastic to have them building each car.

Each owner will also receive a signed certificate from both Graham and Christopher Tate to validate authenticity of the model. I couldn’t be more delighted to be involved in the development of this limited edition model.”
