Here’s a great new venture that we think will be of great interest to totalkitcar/TKC Mag readers. It’s called The Machine Shop and is located in Hinckley, Leicestershire.

Basically, if you are struggling for workshop space or don’t have a covered area in which to work, or you have the skills to do a specific job but don’t have the equipment, join up at The Machine Shop and use their space and their tools and machinery. How often have you been left on a Sunday afternoon wishing for access to a TIG welder or a metal guillotine, for example?

There are three levels of ‘membership’ available or you can just by the day on an ad-hoc basis. Bronze level costs £30 per day, £40 per month or if you sign up for a three-month rolling contract it’s £30 per month. Silver and Gold packages are the next steps and allow the use of more professional equipment.

Opening hours are generous too and The Machine Shop is open seven days a week. On Monday to Thursday it’s open from 4pm to 11pm, on Fridays it’s noon to 11pm and at weekends it’s 9am to 11pm.
