Great British Sports Cars believe in getting young blood into their workshop and their latest recruit is sixteen-year-old Will Wightman and is their new Apprentice.

Will who was a student at The Dukeries Academy in Ollerton, Newark, is going to be studying Engineering at West Notts College in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire one day a week, which is due to hopefully begin in November.

Will is going to be based mainly in the GBS workshop but has already enjoyed days spent in each area of the GBS operation so as to get an understanding of what they do and to learn about the components that they design and manufacture for the Zero range.

GBS co-director, Richard Hall said: “We have a fantastic team here at GBS, who like Will, all have a strong passion for all types of motorsport. Will also enjoys restoring and playing around with cars and parts in his spare time, including his own cars and motorbikes. I think he’ll fit in really well here.”

In other GBS news, the company are finalists in the Business Innovation category for this year’s Newark Business Awards.

Next month the judges will be interviewing the team and then overall winners for each category will be announced at the Awards Ceremony in October at Newark Showground. More details can be found here.
