STONELEIGH SHOW REPORT 2021
Phoenix Kit Cars re-launched the former MEV Mevster model at Stoneleigh. it’s now called the PhoenMX5 and is based around Mazda MX-5 components. Looked good, too.
Apologies to MEV as the photos of their stand fell foul of the lighting issues and the struggles of my Canon Eos! Suffice to say that they had their usual superb stand with several examples of their MX-5-based Exocet as well as their Freaky Parts bespoke brake solutions operation. Here’s a pic from their Stoneleigh stand in 2019.
Westfield Sports Cars is being knocked over by the demand for their Chesl Speedster replica, which is available in traditional Beetle based form or with electric motor (from £72,000).
Demand for the ‘traditional’ Westie model remains massively strong
Pie Valley has teamed up with Dave Fisher’s Kingfisher Kustoms and they are producing some lovely work fron their traditional Beetle-based beach buggies to new stuff like their bespoke front end arrangement
My trusty Canon struggled at times to cope with the brutal lighting in the exhibition hall. One of the images that suffered was this one of a stunning new version of their HAWK HF Stratos replica currently under build, complete with Ferrari engine. Therefore, I had to use this image taken a few days before the show at Hawk’s East Sussex workshop
Rob Hancock reports that business is good at Quantum Sports Cars down in Devon. Kit orders for the Xtreme, demand for spares plus the call for Rob’s GRP skills are keeping him busy
Henry at Aardvark Racing was knocked out by the reaction to his new model at Stoneleigh. His stand was busy all weekend
How great is it that Hambly Sportscars continues to wave the Cox GTM flag in 2021 some 66-years since the little Mini-based icon first broke cover
What a gorgeous example of the Crendon CR427. Not only is it a great kitcar but I like it even more for the fact that they usually have a Ford 427 big block providing the power!
Loads going on at Great British Sports Cars – here’s a rather special version of their Zero model, the ‘Motul Edition’.
New XCS square tube ‘donor-less’ chassis option for their 427 kit – available NOW
XCS DESIGNS are tearing up a few trees at the minute. A state of the art factory in Essex now on stream and a new square tube chassis option, which doesn’t;t feature any donor parts now available for their XCS427. Their round-tube version is also available
Great to see JK Sportscars – the home of the DAX 427 – making the trip to Stoneleigh
The Porsche Boxster-based GTS and GT3S from ANU Dimension looked sensational. What a great way to facelift an old Boxster
As well having a stunning stand AK Sportscars announced a new model at STONELEIGH the AK 40 – having taken over the Southern GT kit
