COBRA BUILDING AND MUCH MORE BESIDES IN LANCASHIRE
A new company on our scene that I have been hearing really good things about is Lancashire-based JC Autosports run by John Sharples and Catherine Gaskell.
They are official northern agents for AK Sports Cars and are also more than happy, willing and able to tackle any job of a kitcar nature for you, be it a refurbishment or even a full build.
John has over 30 years of precision engineering experience including many years in Formula One working with his father at Williams and British American Racing and also spent time at British Aerospace, so his pedigree is peerless.
He is also a specialist car fanatic and currently owns two Cobra replicas and he is also a well-respected member of the European, Northern and East Midlands Cobra clubs (UK) where he provides a lot of help and advice to other club members. He has also been heavily involved with the running of the Tunnocks (where are those wafers?) Tour of Mull Rally in Scotland for over fifteen years.
Meanwhile, Catherine has run successful businesses in numerous industries and has over ten years of technical project management experience not only in the UK but also in Australia for large blue-chip organisations.
With a keen interest in motorsport and classic cars in general, as a team, John and Catherine have come together to provide a one-stop-shop for clients who want to drive something a bit different to a normal daily driver. They definitely follow the ‘dream, build, drive’ ethos!
As well as engineering and car building, they can also help you with custom parts, bespoke requirements and paintwork. There’s a lot going on at JC Autosports and they are an exciting new arrival to the kitcar industry.
We’ll keep you posted on developments happening at the company in the coming months.
