Following the success of the rollout of electric vehicle servicing across its UK garages, Halfords continue to help those transitioning to electric motoring by announcing a partnership with Cord, the electric vehicle home charging installation provider.

Customers can now book Cord’s simplified, jargon-free solution to home charging installation directly through the Halfords website.

Halfords chose to partner with Cord as the company’s innovative approach hugely simplifies the often complex and frustrating process of buying and installing the right home EV-charging solution.

Cord offers a free home survey and installation within two weeks. More than nine in ten installations are ‘standard’ and any additional work required is agreed with the customer in advance, meaning no hidden costs or unexpected fees – a common complaint from those getting EV chargers installed.

Cord also handles authorisation and registration with the appropriate organisations* as well as all customer communications and full compliance with UK Smart Charging Regulations 2023. Halfords believes this no-hassle, no-waiting-around proposition is just what its EV customers are looking for.

There have been 337,537 fully electric or plug-in hybrid cars registered in the UK up to September of 2023. The National Grid estimates there will be 36 million electric vehicles on UK roads by 2042, meaning that a simplified service for at-home vehicle charging is very much needed to ensure suitable access.

Richard Bruce, Commercial Director of Halfords, commented: “At Halfords, we believe in making electric vehicle ownership as easy as possible. For many drivers, a key concern around EVs is charging. We want to help demystify this for our customers, and this partnership will offer a simple, affordable and easy solution for those transitioning or considering transitioning to an EV.”

Halfords has over 650 garages and you can find the nearest branch HERE. For those car essentials, Halfords provides 60-minute Click & Collect across the UK.
