This one is aimed at our North American readers – Project vehicles can be a pain to move, especially on your back and legs. Avoid the agony and slide a set of Auto Dolly Car Dollies under them instead. The dollies fit under each tire and have smooth-rolling, non-marring caster wheels that make it easy to manoeuvre a car in the garage or on any smooth surface.
Auto Dolly Car Dollies are available in three versions:
Standard Car Dollies are made from 1/4in thick steel plate. Your choice of dollies rated at 6000 pounds or 10,000 pounds per set of four to handle tires up to 16in wide. They’re available in pairs or a set of four.
The Super Duty Car Dolly is made from 3/8in thick steel plate and has six caster wheels. A set of four is rated to handle 16,000 pounds and tires up to 16in wide. These are sold individually.
The Dually Dolly is for moving ‘dually’ vehicles and trailers. A set of four is rated to handle 28,000 pounds and features eight caster wheels and a low-profile, 3/8in thick, cold-formed welded steel deck with extra reinforcement.
These are also sold individually.
