Svitol has been around for more than 85 years and has had many looks in that time, but its quality and usefulness remain at the forefront, making it a vital tool to keep handy in a workshop.

While there are a host of internal engine lubricants in a workshop, technicians also need lubricants for outside of the engine bay, which is where a multipurpose lubricant, as well as more specialised ones, are necessary for completing a job effectively.

During its 85 years, Svitol has created a broad range of products that are useful in a host of industries, but especially the automotive sector, where it even had a prestigious 25-year partnership with Ferrari, further strengthening its presence.

For technicians, there are a range of products that can be of use to them.

The Svitol Multi-purpose Lubricant is a universal product, with a synthetic oil-based formula, which is ideal for a variety of applications and can be used to get rid of squeaks, as well as clean grease and grime from surfaces. This means that, compared to mineral oil-based lubricants, synthetic oils have several advantages, such as a greater ability to reduce friction and increased resistance. Additionally, they have excellent resistance to prolonged stress and high temperatures, as well as high resistance and excellent fluidity at low temperatures.

Unlike the products that contain mineral oil, synthetic oil-based lubricants are not subject to circulation and storage restrictions and do not need to be registered.

The Specialties line from Svitol can also be helpful for a technician, for instance, the Svitol Professional Electric, which restores electric contacts, protects from moisture, lubricates and cleans electrical parts. It does not contain silicone and is compatible with most electrical equipment. It’s also safe to use on plastic, rubber and metals, such as steel, copper, magnesium, brass, nickel, zinc and titanium.

Svitol’s Professional Silikon assists technicians when they need to lubricate and waterproof components and is the best lubricant to use to protect non-metal materials, such as plastic, rubber and canvas.

The Svitol Professional Lithium Grease is also a favourite with technicians, as it’s a complex, highly refined lithium soap and mineral oil-based lubricant grease. Essential for protecting from wear, corrosion and rust, it leaves a thin, protective lubricating film, with high water, steam, frost, centrifugation and washout resistance properties. There’s also Svitol Professional Grease PTFE, which is suitable for lubricating O-rings, flat seals and gaskets, bearings, gears and for all mechanisms requiring high-performance lubrication.
