Merlin Motorsport has arranged an exclusive manufacturing supply arrangement with Vixen CNC Ltd, which means that the company’s precision CNC-machined components from made from aluminium 6082 T6, with excellent corrosion resistance and very good weldability.

This newer higher strength alloy has replaced 6061 in many applications. Typically 6082 is used where there’s high pressure and/or force on items such as trusses, bridges, cranes, transport and skips etc.

The range includes ‘bosses’ of various thread configurations (UNF, NPT, BSP and JIC), weld-on bayonet-style filler necks and caps and weld-on dip tube bosses and the common automotive uses for these fittings include Rariators, intercoolers, hose joins, fuel tanks, breather tanks, dry sump tanks, header tanks, swirl pots, bespoke vessels and generally in systems for piping, fuel, water and oil.
