KITCAR COUPE WINS AGAINST STIFF COMPETITION
Hot on the heels of back-to-back concours wins at the 2017 Nostalgia Show, Leicestershire and The 2017 Car & Bike Roadshow, Cambridgeshire. Ex-Lola-man, Rich Howlett’s Lotus Seven-inspired Hardtop Coupé design made it a triple, beating off all the elite classic and sportscar competition at this year’s annual Masterclass awards held at Knebworth House, Hertfordshire over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Competing against elite show cars the event annually attracts in excess of 2000 exhibitors with some of the best cars on the show scene on display. Visitors to the event see Supercars, Classics, Sports, American, Kits, Custom, Hotrods, Movie Cars and more. This year’s glorious weather brought cars from far and wide with the organisers keen to see the final numbers, while speculating this to be the biggest turnout to date.
To be eligible for the Masterclass competition all vehicles must have won concours events at class level within the last three years to enable progression into the Masterclass competition. This then sees all vehicle category winners compete against each other for the coveted Masterclass trophy.
Rich takes up the story: “As the third, second and then first place results were announced, it was an absolute honour and privilege amongst such stunning concours vehicles for my Lotus Seven-inspired Hardtop Coupé design and development to be announced in first place for the 2017 Masterclass winner followed by a presentation of the winner’s trophy.
“With continuous worldwide interest in the design and development, I will now seek to bring this award-winning design to market with a single Lotus Seven-inspired manufacturer and an opportunity now exists to get on-board with an exclusive fitment of the Patent Office Registered Design exclusively for their range of cars.”
