NEW MODEL FROM DARRIAN – FIFTY YEARS OF EVOLUTION
Fifty years of evolution – 2017 Darrian GTR+ Driver: Ashley Field in action.
Darrian Cars, in conjunction with the New Davrian Register, will be celebrating fifty years of production with a display of representative cars from 1967 to the present day at Castle Combe Rally Day this Saturday.
The marque, best-known for their giant-killing Modsports Cars of the 1970’s, will be represented by a display covering all models from the 1967 Mk1 through to the 1980’s Mk8
Darrian Cars, who can count British GT and Motoring News Championships among a wide range of Motorsports achievements, will have on display examples from the 1980’s T9 through to the latest GTR+ Rally Cars.
The late Adrian Evans founded the company in London in the mid-1960’s producing a number of Hillman Imp-based cars for road and track before a move to Wales in 1976 saw a growing interest in rally cars.
The marque evolved into Darrian in the mid-1980’s and continues to produce highly competitive two-wheel drive mid-engine rally cars to this day.
Castle Combe Rally Day will see the launch of the latest ‘Works’ Darrian GTR+, which will see a return to rallying for former Motoring News champion, John Dalton.
