We’re all aware of the problems that high engine bay temperatures can cause, particularly on turbocharged cars, but did you know that your starter is especially at risk?
The ONYX™ Starter Shield from DEI has been designed to withstand severe use and offers starters the highest level of protection from potential failure caused by engine bay heat-soak.
The shield consists of two layers of material: a highly reflective outer layer combined with a high-heat resistant inner. The item is able to endure direct heat up to 730 degrees celsius.
The DEI ONYX™ Starter Shield is a good choice for high heat applications where engine heat soak is a problem. It’s easy to fit thanks to a hook and loop fastening system. It is supplied in a 7in wide x 24in long size (177.8mm x 609.6mm), but the length can be trimmed to fit the starter if necessary.
