RPS LTD PROJECTS FOR SALE DUE TO IMPENDING RETIREMENT
News this week that TKC Mag/totalkitcar.com’s good friends, Julie and Garry Hutton have announced their retirement.
They have many, many years of involvement with the kitcar industry of course, first with GCS Cars and a very good traditional roadster kit called the Hawke, which people still remember with fondness. Indeed, I saw one on the A21 in Kent just the other day.
Latterly they’ve been running RPS Ltd and have been producing some excellent GRP panels for the MGB and have also been producing the RPX (MG TF) and RPS-S (MGF) body conversion kits. We built an RPX several years ago. I still miss that car. I remember what a pleasurable experience that process was.
An email from Julie this week explained the reasons for the announcement.
Hi Steve; We’ve made the difficult decision that we will no longer continue with RPS and therefore will be retiring. It takes a lot of hours and effort running RPS and this is now starting to tell!
All of the RPS Ltd projects, with their associated design registrations/patents, will be sold off. Whether this is in a group or individually will depend on interest.
It will take a few shows to actually wrap everything up and our first show will be the Triumph and MG Spares Show on February 12 at Stoneleigh Park. This will be to start winding down the company and sell off some remaining stock. We will not be taking any further orders and, in fact, over the past few weeks have turned orders away.
More information will be announced on our website and Facebook page, but we will keep you informed of any progress and new project owners as these happen (with their permission).
Their MGB-related range consists of – Rubber Bumper conversion kit (front and rear), RP251 front-end kit VeeBee Wings kit (GT or Roadster), Sebring-style valances kit, Sebring-style front valence (with or without air ducts) and Sebring-style rear valence.
All RPS products are of the highest quality and offer great value for money. I don’t expect these projects will hang around for long.
