RM Sotheby’s is delighted to announce that it will offer an incredible charity lot at its Cliveden House sale on 12 June. The passenger ride in a legendary Ferrari 250 GTO is being offered by the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC), with the lucky buyer set to take to the track at Silverstone Circuit, the home of the British Grand Prix, at a dedicated charity day on September 11.

The day, which will raise funds for the Great Ormond Street Charity, will encompass various fundraising activities, including passenger rides around the iconic track in one of two incredible 250 GTOs generously provided by their owners. RM Sotheby’s will be offering one of the passenger rides as a spectacular lot at its upcoming Cliveden House auction. The Ferrari 250 GTO is widely regarded as one of the most desirable motor cars ever built, with the model holding the world record for the most expensive Ferrari ever sold at auction, having been sold by RM Sotheby’s in November 2023 for $51.7m.

Peter Wallman, Chairman UK and EMEA said: “It is fantastic to be able to collaborate with the BRDC on this charity lot, which I think we can all agree benefits an excellent cause. To passenger in a Ferrari 250 GTO is the ultimate dream for many car enthusiasts, but to be given the opportunity to lap the Silverstone circuit with a leading historic racing driver behind the wheel is a unique opportunity. We’re confident that people will dig deep and raise as much as possible for the Great Ormond Street Charity.”
