Pipercross filters are well-known for their high-performing panel filters and induction kits. With over 3000 applications in an ever-growing catalogue, chances are, they will have the right filter for your car. However, if you need something really unusual, what do you do then? Thankfully, their bespoke division seems to be able to cater for most requirements – as the picture of a recent gargantuan creation shows.

Being based in the UK, Pipercross has un-rivalled experience in working with leading race teams, fabricators and engineers in order to create custom solutions. Usually, these can be found on anything from the front few rows of the BTCC grid, through to the rather more hush-hush environs of defence and security applications. The good news is however, that you don’t have to be a multiple British touring car champion or military procurement officer to access this division – in fact, it’s open to any enthusiast or racer who can sketch or describe a requirement.

In the Pipercross factory R&D room, any filter of any size, foam medium or (almost any) shape can be created from foam sheet. Even if you need something the size of a small dustbin – as with the filter built for a drift customer with an air-hungry motor shown here – the costs and development time will doubtless be less than you think.

Prices start at just £90 inc VAT for a simple, cylindrical custom rubber-necked filter.
