DON’T ROUND YOUR NUTS OFF!
Apr 25th
The old story: You are attempting to remove a wheel nut – but it’s so damaged and rounded-off that the socket is just turning on it. Or worse still, you’ve lost your locking wheel nut key! New from Laser Tools is their Locking Wheel Nut Removal Kit (part number 8842), your solution for tackling stubborn, damaged rounded-off wheel bolts, or locking wheel nuts or bolts when the key is lost.
The kit features eight sizes of internally threaded and tapered removal sockets; a suitable-sized removal socket is hammered over the offending wheel nut or bolt and it is then simply unscrewed More >

LOAD OF HOT AIR
Apr 25th
Hot air isn’t a good thing if you’re an engine with a turbo or supercharger. Boost makes horsepower, but it also creates a lot of heat. The more boost, the higher engine temperatures can get. The next thing you know, you’ve got detonation issues and big problems.
A Snow Performance Stage 2.5 Boost Cooler solves that problem by injecting a water/methanol mix into the engine’s air intake. The system’s VC-50 progressive controller uses a MAP sensor to inject the mix in proportion to manifold boost pressure – the higher the pressure, the more water/methanol mix is added.
This dramatically lowers engine temperatures More >
BIG UP TO THE ‘SUPER BEARS’!
Apr 25th
The 50th anniversary of Hesketh Racing’s first Formula 1 victory was celebrated at a special event at Silverstone on Saturday 20 April. Organised by Valentine Lindsay and held during the Vintage Sports-Car Club’s Spring Start meeting, it reunited members of the legendary team and included a demonstration run by the Hesketh 308 in which James Hunt had scored that historic win.
On 7 April 1974, Hunt started the prestigious International Trophy from pole position, having qualified 1.7-seconds faster than the Lotus of Ronnie Peterson. He then made a poor start and dropped into the midfield as the race got underway – and More >
GREASE IS THE WORD (HUMOUR ME!)
Apr 18th
New from CAR BUILDER SOLUTIONS is this new Copper Grease Aerosol product. Arguably, there’s only thing better than copper grease at its job and that’s Aluminium Grease. However, there’s nothing wrong with Copper Grease, especially when fitting new brake components and even wheel nuts. It definitely makes it easier to remove components next time.
The version that comes in a tin can be messy to use, makes your hands dirty and renders a hitherto fine pair of nitrile gloves useless. A little bit of this stuff goes a very long way.
Therefore, I think this new aerosol version from Car Builder Solutions More >
SAFER INDICATORS FROM BETTER CAR LIGHTING
Apr 18th
Every year, there are accidents and avoidable near misses when drivers fail to realise that their indicators have ‘cancelled’ and they emerge from side roads to join faster traffic on a main road with nobody knowing which way they are headed.
This is often because the indicator audible warning is too quiet, or even silent. Only having a visual display means having to look away from what is happening ahead, and a lot can change in a very short time.
Gil Keane at Better Car Lighting has a pretty cool solution and his simple and highly effective upgrade costs just £35 inc More >

CHANGING PLACES AT THE BRITISH MOTOR MUSEUM
Apr 18th
The British Motor Museum is delighted to have been awarded funding for a new Changing Places toilet, a partnership between the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities (DLUHC) and Muscular Dystrophy UK in association with Stratford-on-Avon District Council.
Changing Places toilets are designed for people who are unable to use standard accessible toilets and include equipment such as hoists, privacy screens, adult-sized changing benches and space for carers. The installation of this facility will further enhance the Museum’s accessibility, helping to open up the extensive vehicle collections to those who may not previously have been able to visit.
