HIDE AND SEEK

Unhappy with the standard method of attacking leather with aggressive cleaners and then smothering it in sticky oils or waxes that lead to dye transfer and trapped dirt (a process that ultimately leads to the degradation of coloured finishes)? Well, the technicians at CődeClean have created two new products that work in combination to clean and protect leather safely and effectively.

CődeClean’s Leather Cleaner (£7 for 500ml) contains a superior blend of soaps and mild solvents to remove a wide range of dirt and contaminants (including blue dye from jeans), leaving a natural finish and barrier that reduces the likelihood of More >

DRUM ROLL, PLEASE

The top of a 205-litre oil drum is always grubby and dirty, isn’t it? No matter how careful you are, it gets covered in oil and attracts dirt, and is difficult to clean. Laser Tools has the answer! Quick, easy and cost effective: the new Oil Absorbent Drum Top Mats (part number 6033), available now in packs of ten.

Each mat is 550mm in diameter and has die-cut access holes for the filler openings. The material readily absorbs oil but not water-based liquids and each mat will absorb up to a litre of oil before it becomes saturated. Another aid to More >

REGULATIONS ARE REGULATIONS!

Edelbrock has expanded its line of fuel pressure regulators for carburettor applications.

The regulators are machined from aircraft quality aluminium for those who demand the best. They include a fluoro-silicone diaphragm for extended life and high temperature protection.

The units feature an adjustable pressure range of 5-10psi and are available in 160- and 180-GPH. Select regulators include a 1/8in NPT gauge port and a boost reference fitting for blow- through or pressurised carb applications (even beyond 30psi boost).

They are designed to hold fuel system pressure for at least 20-minutes after pump shutdown and are compatible with all grades of petrol and even More >

NO MORE PLATE SPINNING

Now you can check your vehicle’s geometry without the need for ramps or jacks. All you need is a flat floor surface. Just drive straight on to the new B-G ultra-thin EZ Sweep Castor Slip Plates and take your measurements.

With 20 degrees of rotation, the EZ Sweep Castor Slip Plates can measure castor, camber and kingpin inclination angles. The secret to this unique product lies in the use of a PTFE-coated surface, which enables it to slip through the measuring arc without the need of messy grease or bulky bearings.

The plates have been robustly constructed with a stainless steel base More >

MARVELLOUS MILESTONE FOR GARDNER DOUGLAS SPORTS CARS

The National Kit Car Motor Show at Stoneleigh back in 1990, saw Andy Burrows introduce the Gardner Douglas brand to the kitcar market with their very their first model, the GD427 Mk3.

Very soon the GD was gaining much critical acclaim for its smooth, rattle-free road manners, roadholding and general performance. This was all largely due to their refreshing approach with the chassis underpinnings and body structure of their package.

The GD427 also proved itself as a dominant force in racing, with the stiffer, more agile car, so quick and capable through the corners.

However, it is the superlative engineering and road-going aspects More >

NEW ERA FOR TIGER

Tiger Racing boss, Jim Dudley, has been in touch to tell me about his new ERA 30 Lotus 23 replica package.

The standard version is available fully built only and features an all-new Ford engine and Hewland Mk9 gearbox, a glorious thing but one with a price ticket of circa £42,000 inc VAT.

On the other hand, Jim’s new ‘lite’ version can be built, he estimates, for about the same price as the cost of that Hewland ‘box, which is about 10 grand. The bulk of the savings comes from the fact that you use an early nineties Audi 80 donor vehicle, More >
