The Mazda RX-8 five- or six-speed gearbox is a popular conversion, particularly within the fast and classic Ford scenes.
What to do about an adaptor plate to allow it to fit to a Ford Zetec, Pinto, Crossflow or even BDA?
Butcher Race Engineering makes a suitable adaptor plate that is laser cut, accurate and also affordable.
The top two countersunk holes on the plate are used to sort out the alignment of the plate’s centreline to that of the crankshaft.

The 1st/2nd gearchange forks used in classic Minis – and in thousands of kitcars – are prone to wear. The factory shift forks were made of a brass-type material and were quite soft as they were designed to wear before the gear; this means that they MUST be replaced often if the box is to continue to shift like new!
Fortunately, MiniSpares has just released two newly re-tooled selector fork options. Both have been manufactured in the UK using the lost wax casting process to produce the parts in an aluminium bronze alloy. The result is a marked improvement on the original brass-type version.

RUST REMOVAL MADE EASY

Stripping paint and rust from a chassis is a fairly regular kitcar task and it can be a proper nightmare job.
Eastwood’s new Surface Conditioning Tool has a rotating drum and a high-torque, ball-bearing-driven motor with (it says here!) hardened spur gears.
