Aug 20th
If you’re working on your kit or classic car you can always trust Gunson to provide the classic tools and equipment that you’ll need to do a professional job.
They still stock Whitworth spanners for example! Now if you have a post-war British car up to the mid-to-late 1960s, you’ll be familiar with the brass bullet wiring terminals and their connectors. If you are repairing the wiring harness, adding period accessories or even making up a completely new harness, this new set from Gunson (part number 77169) provides two tools that will enable you to crimp the bullets and then fit More >
NO, IT WASN’T AN ILLUSION!
Aug 20th
Here’s a really quality snow foam from Illusion Car Care that also offers great value for money.
It contains powerful cleaning agents with a long dwell time and it clings onto the paint very well. I timed it at over ten minutes and it’s very effective as I watched crud literally fall off.
It is also wax and coating safe, unlike some that completely strip existing coatings from the car’s body.
A 1-litre bottle costs just £6.95 with more information from www.illusioncarcare.co.uk ENDS.

A LOT ON YOUR PLATE
Aug 20th
The Mini Spares team are the experts when it comes to sourcing hard-to-find parts for the classic Mini. However, if they can’t source a part that’s up to their high standards they will not compromise on quality and so will opt to make their own version.
A case in point is the latest Mini Spares Engine Front Plate for A Plus engines that use a timing chain tensioner.
The main bearing cap screw holes are countersunk to allow flat-faced screws to be used in place of bolts, thus providing the extra clearance required when using a duplex chain. (Screws are available as AEA687 More >

As the UK emerges tentatively from the Covid-19 pandemic, many have been reconsidering their lifestyle choices, perhaps with a move from the city to the countryside or reassessing their work/life balance.
Artisan British kitcar manufacturer, Marlin Sportscars, is hoping to tap into the ‘new normal’ following the retirement of the company’s MD Terry Matthews, two exciting business opportunities are coming to the market.
Having briefly tested the water in 2019, a restructuring of the Marlin Sportscars portfolio now makes it far easier and affordable for any would-be kitcar manufacturer to enter this exciting scene (or an existing manufacturer to add to their More >

I DO LIKE A NICE BADGE
Aug 13th
Loving these top-quality enamel badges available now from Car Builder Solutions. A total of nineteen different designs are available.
I note a couple of them were as used by MG Rover on their ‘Z’ models and MG TF back in the day and as such have been out of production since 2005 when the manufacturer folded, but I always thought they added a smart touch to a specialist car.
Likewise, others I the range which includes a tasteful ‘St George’ Crusader cross, a Scottish Ecosse design and a nice outline of circuits such as Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Hockenheim and the Nürburgring.

DRY SUMP FOR YOUR PINTO
Aug 13th
A dry-sump system offers many advantages over a standard factory ‘wet’ sump.
Engine reliability is improved thanks to a more consistent oil pressure especially when cornering, there is an increased oil capacity due to a large external reservoir and the engine can be mounted lower in the vehicle as there is no large oil pan which helps lower the centre of gravity thereby improving handling and aerodynamics.
Fitting a dry-sump system to the Pinto engine has never been easier thanks to this conversion kit from Burton Power. Most of the conversion is a simple bolt-on affair with only the front of the More >
