NO MORE PUNCTURE STRESS
Jun 13th
Automotive accessory specialist, Ring Automotive, has launched a new flat tyre repair kit that provides a temporary fix for a puncture.
According to the AA, it attended over 180,000 call-outs due to a flat tyre. Plus with vehicle manufacturers, especially on electric vehicle models, wanting to save space and weight, the spare tyre or space saver tyres have been completely removed from cars. This means there is a growing demand for replacement tyre sealant as more and more car models enter the UK market with a puncture repair kit as standard.
Tyre sealant is now very common across the UK with an More >

Safe driving gift for Father’s Day – June 16
The AlcoSense Pro personal breathalyser will help Dad easily tell when alcohol has cleared his system the next day.
It uses a slightly smaller version of exactly the same sensor used in several UK, US and European Police breathalysers. So, it’s extremely accurate. It features a full colour screen that will give clear readings of his alcohol level and if he’s close to or over the limit the Pro will alert him not to drive.
Its Blow Coach will help him blow into it correctly to improve accuracy even further and it’s temperature sensitive, so the Pro will always More >

THE ROTHMANS 50,000
The late Brands Hatch boss, John Webb was a real motorsport showman, innovator and pioneer. His career was peppered with a variety of well-known events, championships and a variety of stunts. STEVE HOLE tells the story of the Rothmans 50,000.
The late John Webb was a master of motorsport marketing and publicity. He also knew how to put on a show, even if sometimes they sounded too wacky to be true. One such event that took place at Brands Hatch on August 28, 1972 (August Bank Holiday) was a race with a £50,000 prize fund (approximately £461,260, allowing for inflation, today), More >
NEW ARRIVAL AT WESTFIELD – TIPO 184
Jun 6th
Continuing with the electric kitcar theme this week, Great British Sports Cars has rolled out their new Zero EV and like their petrol-powered cars, a variety of packages will be available from starter kit through to turnkey car.
It can also be had in standard body or larger GT chassis guise.
Power comes from a Tesla Model S small block rear-wheel drive electric motor, a great choice as it has a combined motor, gearbox and inverter unit, which for our game is really beneficial, mainly due to space and packaging considerations.
The Zero EV has a 220kw motor which is the equivalent of More >
CRENDON TURNS THE ELECTRIC ON
Jun 6th
A visit to Crendon Replicas in deepest Somerset is always a delight. I recently popped down the M4 to do a feature on one of their brilliant petrol-powered V8 CR427 Cobra replicas (it’ll be starring in the imminent July/August issue) but was fortunate to have a good look at their brand-new e-CR427 which is despite Crendon boss Anthony Hale’s modesty is a pioneering car.
It is also every bit as brilliant as the standard CR427. The car has been developed in conjunction with the customer, a university professor and we’ll be bringing you more on this one very soon.
MAZDA MX-5-BASED LMR-141 FROM QUANTUM LOOKS LIKE A WINNER
Jun 6th
Quantum Sports Cars unveiled the completed version of their brilliant new LMR-141 kit at Malvern, which like its sister, Replicar model is based on Mazda MX-5 donor parts.
If the public reaction was anything to go by at the show, this is going to be a huge success, especially when you consider that kit prices start at £7595 and as ever Quantum boss Rob Hancock is giving a variety of options.
The bodyshell of your LMR-141 can come with an opening bonnet and boot, can have doors or no doors and if you prefer can even have a flip front.

IT’S GONE GLOBAL!
Jun 6th
Great to see Ollie of Global GT Lights exhibiting at Malvern. It is one of the finest trackday-orientated cars that I have ever driven. A diminutive car that seems to shrink itself around you.
Two variants are available. The GT-R6, which uses the Yamaha R6 bike engine, which gives around 133bhp, equating to a power-to-weight ratio of 336bhp per tonne. The rangetopper is the barnstorming GT-R1, powered by Yamaha R1 (priced at £29,995 for the comprehensive kit requiring the bike parts) and producing a 180bhp whack in the back, while also delivering a stonking 450bhp per tonne!
