MANIFOLD REASONS WHY …
Dec 7th
Webcon has announced the introduction of a range of manifold spacer sets.
It is widely understood that increasing intake length can have a beneficial effect on performance. Up until now, the only way to achieve this has been to fit different length intake manifolds, when available. However, now the new Webcon spacers allow the existing intake manifold to quickly and easily be extended with the minimum of disruption to the tuning process.
Superbly CNC manufactured in the UK from billet aluminium, the new spacers add 32mm to the length of any 45DCOE manifold and are supplied in kit form with studs, nuts, More >
IT’S NOT A GRIND WITH THIS HANDY TOOL
Dec 7th
One of the most versatile tools you should have in your toolbox is a die grinder. This Air Pencil Die Grinder from Laser Tools (part number 7149) adds even more versatility with its ultra-slim profile and lightweight, making for great manoeuvrability and suitable for intricate work.
By its very nature, an air-powered die grinder is quite bulky and it’s connected up to a heavy workshop compressed air-line. However, this air pencil is small, light and compact; and it’s connected to the workshop air-line by 1.4-metres of super-thin and very flexible hose, making it easy to use even in really tight locations More >

RECOGNISING THE PAST
Dec 7th
The power of the re-imagined and the recreated is undeniably strong at the moment. Retro cars made modern is now a trend for any number of cottage industries turned massively successful businesses in recent years – firms like Singer for its 911 recreations and Eagle for its E-type re-imagining have chiselled out a niche in the classic car marketplace that’s almost impossible to better. There’s a good reason for the obsession as well – modern underpinnings with retro good looks makes an awful lot of sense – practicality with new age performance and economy…What’s not to like?

EASY CHANGE
Dec 7th
Now you can save time and energy when replacing a flat or punctured tyre on a twin axle trailer with the B-G Racing Tyre Changing Ramp.
The Tyre Changing Ramp simplifies the wheel changing process. Simply loosen the wheel nuts/bolts on the damaged wheel and drive the good wheel onto the Tyre Changing Ramp. The damaged wheel is then suspended off the ground allowing for work to be carried out safely and efficiently, before driving the trailer back off the ramp and re-tightening the nuts/bolts.
No more messing around with jacks or makeshift shims; no problems with a jack sinking into the More >
MORE CHASSIS MAGIC FROM THE PIE VALLEY!
Nov 30th
Pie Valley Buggies, along with their mates at Kingfisher Kustoms, led by VW guru, Dave Fisher, has just announced a new chassis option that is intended to offer an update possibility to the thousands of VW Beetle-based kitcars that, by now, could be in need of a chassis change.
Pie Valley MD, Ed Morton, originally came up with a frame based around MGF/TF mechanicals, although he’s since revised this to accept the Volkswagen 1.8 FSI turbocharged unit.
The new chassis has been developed in association with FBS Census and Edge Devil designer, Robin Hall, a very clever man indeed, who has also More >
BRIGHTEN FADED STUFF
Nov 30th
Polytrol is another of the excellent range of products from Owatrol and it’s a versatile oil that restores dull and/or faded surfaces, including car trim and bumpers.
I used it on a mate’s bumper that was once black but had badly faded, almost to white. The reason is that the oils in the plastics rise to the surface and evaporate over time. I slapped a bit on to the bumper and it miraculously returned to its former glory.
The oil penetrates deep into the material’s surface and so is ideal for restoring gelcoat, plastics, metal and many other surfaces including concrete!

COOL SEALANT
Nov 30th
I’d heard a lot about the automotive coating Hydrosilex Recharge, from friends in the USA, so I decided to give it a try.
I ordered the ‘Enthusiast Pack’ from their website. It contained their Rewind wax and grease remover, Silica soap and the main event, Recharge coating, along with three quality microfibre cloths. This cost $98, but I figure that if I was going to do this properly I should go the full Monty.
The Rewind product is pretty self-explanatory once you read the label and is used to removing the existing wax and polish from your vehicle’s service. Like most of More >
CHEQUER PLATE NOT CHEQUERED FLAG!
Nov 30th
Aluminium chequer-plate (also known as tread-plate) is a brilliant and versatile product. In motorsport, it’s mainly used for workshop benches and flooring to prevent slipping and provide grip.
It’s also commonly seen on the front wings or flat-beds of Land Rovers to provide some grip to anyone standing in these areas when doing some gnarly off-roading.
Not to mention the myriad kitcars that have it employed somewhere about them.
It’s strong, rust-resistant, easy to clean, requires no maintenance and of course, has good anti-slip and anti-skid properties.
There really are endless other uses including trailer floors, ramps, ladder/step treads, door kickplates, motorhome garage floors More >
