IT’S ‘MYNT’ WITH CHERRIES!
Jul 5th
Northern Ireland-based brand Mynt Automotive make a cool range of products for the detailing enthusiast and recently I had the chance to try out their No.7 Interior Detailer, which has a glorious, deep cherry scent without being artificial like some of those horrid vaping fragrances.
However, what it does very well is lift dust and greasy finger marks and gives the dashboard a very pleasant factory-finish sheen. It also seemed to last a long time too, managing to repel all but the heaviest dust.
A 500gm spray bottle tin costs £12.95 and is available from www.myntautomotive.co.uk ENDS.

More >BRIGHT LIGHTS
Jun 29th
Ring, the automotive workshop lighting experts, has launched a new slim-line inspection lamp to get light into even the narrowest gaps in the engine bay.
The RIL3800bhp MAGflex Slim is just 15mm deep, meaning that it can throw light into the hardest to reach spots, as well as providing a broad illumination for the entire engine bay.
It features a ‘chip-on-board’ (COB) 3w LEDs that emit up to 250-lumens, while the lamp’s white colour temperature – 6000K – provides a comfortable working light and includes a torch for a focused beam.
The MAGflex Slim also has a magnet for hands-free use and a More >
QUICK! IT’S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Jun 29th
Ultimately when I choose car care products the way they work and perform is the prime reason for buying them but I have to be honest and say that lurid colours and lovely smells are also very important to me.
A company that I like and one of the many Scottish-based artisan car care houses is AM Details, founded and run by one of the UK’s gurus of such matters, Alan Medcraf.
Their products work just as they say they will are brightly coloured and have a lovely pong. Take their Quick Detailer Plus product, a vibrant bright yellow liquid that smells More >
SEALEY GET RAMPED UP
Jun 29th
Sealey’s new three-tonne capacity ramps (per pair) are a new addition to the range. They are manufactured from durable polypropylene so are lightweight compared to standard metal models.
These ramps are designed to allow jacking access to suitable jacking points on the vehicle but are not intended to raise a vehicle enough for under vehicle servicing.

SUPER DRYING AID FROM WO-WO
Jun 29th
I decided to give my car a bit of a proper wash the other day, so I got the snowfoam and lance out and proceeded to let it do its job.
Once rinsed I used Wo-Wo’s Twin-Layer Drying Towel as I’d heard good things about them. I used to scoff at those who use such things but I have to say that if you want to avoid marring, water spots and/or swirl marks, get hold of one.
Wo-Wo’s towel is a double-thickness plush absorbent microfibre in a practical size of 40cm x 60cm. I’d have to say that it’s the best of More >
SAFER INDICATORS FOR CLASSIC ROADSTERS AND OTHER HISTORIC VEHICLES
Jun 29th
Cars with semaphore turn-signal indicators have a great deal of charm and are of historical importance. However, flashing orange indicators at each corner of cars were developed for a reason, as they do a far better and safer job of signalling that the car is about to change direction.
Until recently, many beautiful period kitcars, classic and vintage vehicles used to routinely have extra orange lights bolted onto their elegant bodywork and the semaphore signalling arms were disconnected. Now, thankfully, we tend to be a little more sensitive to the need to keep these machines looking as they were intended to More >
RINSE OFF PAR EXCELLENCE
Jun 29th
On the same day that I washed my car and used the Wo-Wo Drying Towel, I also decided to give a whirl to Wax Addicts’ Hydro Clay Rinse Spray.
These so-called rinse aids are the latest big thing. You basically spray them on your car immediately after you’ve washed and rinsed it and stand back and see how shiny and glossy it is.
That’s the theory and I’ve tried a few with missed results but as I was doing the job I remembered that the nice people at Wax Addict had sent me a bottle of their Rinse Spray to try. So, More >
