THE SWISS ARE KNOWN FOR WATCHES, CHEESE, CHOCOLATE AND NOW THE EROD!
Feb 8th
Claiming to be the world’s first production electric-powered kitcar the eROD was designed in Switzerland by a company called Kyburz. A new name in cars maybe but they’ve produced literally thousands of industrial vehicles such as electric delivery trikes, like the DXP, used extensively by the Swiss postal service, over the years.
Three versions of eRod are available – Basic, Fun and Race with estimated ranges between charges of 43-, 80- and 137-miles, respectively.
There’s a mix of Lotus Seven and exo-skeletal car in the eRod and the car is underpinned by a tube-steel spaceframe

A new name to the kitcar industry maybe but Rugeley, Staffordshire-based Automotech Services has been around since 1972 supplying a variety of garage equipment such as four-post lifts, tyre machines and wheel balancers among other stuff.
They also aim at the enthusiast end of the market and offer a range of incredibly good value scissor-lifts that will appeal to our readers and make your lives easier in the garage. A new addition to the T89 range this week and Cal Trump told me: “Due to popular demand we have created a new Add-On pack for the SSL plans-built racecar that turns it into a two-seat full-bodied Sports Racer.”
Based on the same drivetrain, suspension, brakes and steering, the add-on pack features a 200mm wider chassis that brings it up to the minimum width for Sports Racer, Supersports and Sports Libre series such as OSS, RGB and Bikesports. It also features a longer wheelbase for circuit racing stability and revised universal handed pedal box. All updated wishbone and mount drawings are More >
A GREAT ONE FOR KITCAR DRIVERS; NOT JUST SCOOBY OWNERS
Feb 8th
The constant, frenetic pace of technological change can sometimes be exhausting, and it’s all too easy for it to pass us by. In fact, so seamless is the constant technological march that it often takes the launch of a specific, industry-defining product to make you stop and take stock, and Sunnycam Xtreme Video Recording Sunglasses are a case in point.
A product recently added to Subaru UK’s ever-expanding portfolio of officially-approved and sanctioned accessories, the Sunnycam Xtreme is precisely the kind of product that would have had previous generations scratching their chins and furrowing their brow in amazement, mainly as they More >
NEW CHOKE OVERHAUL KIT FOR YOUR WEBER
Feb 8th
Weber 32/36 DGAV and 38 DGAS carburettors are used on millions of cars worldwide and combine the reliability and power of Weber with the convenience of a water-operated automatic choke.
Over time the efficiency of the bi-metallic unit can deteriorate leading to poor starting and choke performance whilst the housing can corrode if the engine’s antifreeze and corrosion inhibitor have not been correctly maintained.
Now the choke units on these popular carburettors can be overhauled by using the new Webcon overhaul kit.
The package contains 100 per cent genuine Weber parts including a bi-metallic unit, a die-cast water jacket and all the ancillary parts More >
AFFORDABLE INSTRUMENTS

New from Rally Design and joining their existing range of value for money instruments are the matching 80mm stepper tacho (0-10,000rpm) and speedo (0-170mph) and both are now in stock, to complete the range with their 60mm stepper info gauges.
Rally Design reckon that these are probably the best value for money gauges currently on the market and great care has been taken to avoid gimmicks and an easy to read display.
A complete set of gauges featuring tacho, speedo and four secondary instruments costs around £240 inc VAT depending on the gauges you choose.

CRIKEY, I’M SURE THERE’S A POLAR BLAST
Feb 1st
Autoglym has made car washing even more fun – as well as much easier – with the release of its superior Snow Foam – Polar Blast, applied through a jet-wash lance. As the perfect precursor to a wash routine, it reduces the risk of scratches and swirls by covering the vehicle in a spectacular rich blanket of foam that clings to paintwork to gently loosen and lift dirt and heavy soiling prior to shampooing. Best of all, if your car is only lightly dirty, Polar Blast can replace the shampoo stage altogether!
Developed in Autoglym’s industry-leading labs, Polar Blast produces an More >

RING AUTOMOTIVE WILL KEEP YOU INFLATED
Feb 1st
Recent research into the maintenance of car tyres by British drivers suggests that 40 per cent of cars have dangerously uninflated tyres. The research, from Kwik Fit, showed that British drivers are risking their safety by driving on poorly maintained tyres. Underinflated tyres also make driving less efficient, meaning that it is costing drivers at the fuel pump as well.
To help, Ring, the vehicle lighting and car accessory specialist, has a complete range of tyre care devices that can help drivers to stay safe and save money.
