NEW HOME IN POLAND FOR DUTTONS REEF AND SURF

News that Tim Dutton has sold his eponymous amphibious car manufacturing business including the Reef and Surf models to Polish sea-plane manufacturer, Kama EKO Group, run by Adam Kloska.

Production of both Dutton models will re-commence in early 2024, although Kama are well-versed with Tim’s products having acted as his agent in Poland for several years.

If you thought that Tim would be retiring, you can forget that. As he told me recently and quite incredulously, “Retire? What on earth would I do with myself?”

He’ll now concentrate on buying and selling pre-loved Dutton Amphijeeps, Mariners, Commanders, Reefs and Surfs. Keep up with More >

UP FOR GRABS AT CAR AND CLASSIC – A STUNNING AUTOTUNE ARISTOCAT

Jaguar’s XK120 ushered in a new era for the firm, one characterised by wins on Sunday and sales on Monday. Utterly beautiful and as quick as anything else on the road, original cars are sought after and command prices nudging the stratosphere.

For those who admire the XK120 but have slightly less deep pockets, there is the Aristocat by Autotune. It was developed with permission from Jaguar and designed to run on the firm’s more recent running gear, mainly six- or 12-cylinder XJ or XJS. Autotune offered it as a kit that could add in their own personalisation during the construction.

BETTER CAR LIGHTING ANNOUNCE LED LUCAS L512 REPLACEMENT

This elegant lump of chrome and glass graces the back of the Jaguar XK150, Jaguar Mk2 and several other Jaguar cars of that era. In good condition, it is a thing of beauty but is a little dim and more decorative than useful. It is a number plate light, reversing light and shines into the boot to illuminate in there when the lights are on.

The Better Car Lighting LED upgrade kit has been developed to address the weaknesses of this light unit and to add more functions, to allow cars with it to enjoy the extra safety that modern cars take More >

HEATER SWITCHES

Is it time to turn the heaters on yet? As a species, we are never satisfied with the temperature we are given, and always aim for ultimate control over the ambience of our environment.

If that environment is over 40 years old, made of metal, less than airtight and travelling at relative speed, then there are limited control options available to us. The most basic of which will be sliding some levers or opening a window!

Here is a solution to making that first one a little more special… Some new heater levers: ones that haven’t fallen off, cracked or faded in More >

EASY STEER

Adding switches to your steering wheel to activate devices like trans-brakes, line-locks, or nitrous can be a wiring nightmare. That’s not a problem with a TCI Spiral Cord Switch Kit.

It has a four-wire 18-gauge cord to handle the two included microswitches, saving you the hassle of using a separate two-wire cord for each switch. Add another TCI microswitch and you can power three activation buttons from the same cord. How easy is that?

TURBO KNOW HOW FROM NISSENS

As the vast majority of the vehicles in the UK are still powered by either a petrol or diesel engine – and even hybrid electrics still incorporate one version or the other – the demand for engine-related replacement parts is as strong as ever, and recent forecasts indicate this will remain the case for at least the next decade

In order to conform with European emissions legislation, whatever their fuel type, many of these engines are small capacity units employing forced induction combustion systems, which are almost always reliant on a turbocharger.
